Artistic Designer
When
I was asked to write a brief bio about myself I looked at my fellow
co-worker with bewilderment. I could not for the life of me figure out
what to put down on paper that would be of any interest to anyone except
maybe my Mother. Then I thought I would just simply tell you a little
about myself and my career choice.
I
became a technical stylist later in life when I was 29 although I had
been doing hair and nails for friends and family for at least 10 years
prior to that. I decided to become a 'real' stylist when the company I
was working for became a corporate nightmare and I had to do some soul
searching.
With
the help of my friends, I decided to pursue one of my passions, becoming
a stylist. I was introduced to Tony and Gadzooks through a co-worker at
the time and that began my new career a short 15 years ago.
I
love what I do for so many reasons. I love the creative part and the
fact that really no two days are the same. I love when someone comes
to me having a bad day and together we make it something special.
Maybe that is just a quick blowdry or it could be some new highlights.
I
always hope that a visit with me will become a new relationship. I
always intend to strive to of course meet but also hopefully to exceed
any expectations my clients may have.
I
have found that most people don't really know what they want but can
certainly tell me what they DON'T want. For this reason I believe my
most important tool is my listening first. So many of my clients have
always stated that their last stylist just didn't listen and I have
taken that to heart so I won't become 'your last stylist'.
I
want to make your visit with me a special time for you...not just
another chore of the day. I want to always be open for new and exciting
ideas no matter how small and I hope to make my clients excited about
'doing their hair' again...not just look at it as a mundane daily
chore. Together we can do this with always new and exciting 'tools'
like the ever changing world of wonderful products and the constantly
changing ideas you and I will learn together. Myself through new and
constant training and you through ideas from your favorite shows and
magazines.
